In 2013 Marlena Molitor started working for the film production Big World Cinema and the Encounters Documentary Film Festival in Cape Town. After various jobs and internships, she began her studies in documentary filmmaking at the University of Television and Film Munich in 2016.
Her documentary films FEBRUÁR (2017) and PROHLIS (2019) have won several awards and have screened at international festivals (including Intl. Film Festival Signes de Nuit Paris, Cinema Vérité Intl. Documentary Film Festival Iran, and DOK.Fest Munich). PROHLIS was also broadcasted on the German television channel MDR. Her latest documentary SORT OF GROWN UP won the short film award at the 55th Hof International Film Festival.
Marlena Molitor is currently in Colombia, realising short films, working and researching for her graduation film.
